SOUTH CAROLINA DONKEY AND MULE ASSOCIATION
SC DONKEY AND MULE ASSOCIATION NEWSLETTER
Happy New Year!!!
Just a note to wish everyone well and let you know
what we are doing. I am looking forward to this coming
year. We had a great year in 2009 and we will have a
better 2010.The turn out at the Annual Meeting was good,
there were a few faces that were missing, hope all is well
with you who could not make it.
The Fair went well in 2009 and I want to thank
everyone who came to work and show. I would like to see
more of you participate. We wanted to keep the Fair going
and it will take all of us to do it. I would also like to see
everyone sponsor at least 1 class. This, along with the
“seed money” we have accumulated, is crucial since we have
upped the payout to attract more exhibitors.
We are planning the Five Day Ride. It will be
starting out From the Ingrams in
@803-481-7116.
Hope to see all of you on the Trail.

The Annual Meeting was held at the
Lugoff, turn out was good and lots of things were
discussed.
Mr. Bill made it. We were all glad to see him. I am
sure he had to get his mule and donkey fix. Also Tom
Luketich has had some back surgery. We are told he is
doing well, so keep both Tom and Mr. Bill in our Prayers.
I know they will keep up the hard work of recovery.
Minutes from Annual Meeting
January 9, 2010
The meeting was called to order by our President Olin Jackson around 11:45AM at the Rowan Presbyterian Church in Lugoff, South Carolina. With our stomachs full from a delicious Pot-Luck ham dinner we got down to business.
The first order of business, the Minutes from our last Annual Meeting were read and approved.
This included a Financial Statement for 2009 for both the Club and Show Accounts.
We proceeded on to the election of Officers.
Kirby Ingram was reelected Vice President; Jimmy Bryson and Billy Barfield were elected as a Board Members. Our 2010 Officers and Board are as follows:
President Vice President Secretary/Treasurer
Olin Jackson Kirby Ingram Donna Ingram
Board Members
Rick Gary Beth Tankersley Charlie Hoback
Steve Mathis Billy Barfield Jimmy Bryson
The Show at the State Fair was the next item of discussion. By all accounts it was a success, the participants had a great time all three days and things ran fairly smooth. Everyone, including Fair Officials, were very pleased with the turnout. Our Judge, Karen Reeder and our Announcer, Skip Neese did a fine job as always. We thank them for that.
The Show Account balance amount is available to memebers by contacting Donna.
We of course ran into a few snags but with the approval of the State Fair we should have those worked out for 2010.These consist of a bit more money from the Fair, more advertising from the Fair, mailing out entry passes so people will have them on hand when they arrive at the Fair. There is also the possibility of a celebrity candy scramble for Local News teams children and for the adults a celebrity wagon class.
Once again there were a lot of people that really worked hard to put this Show together, we could use a lot more help. More so on Sunday than Friday or Saturday. We have more spectators on Sunday so we really need to put our best foot forward to let everyone know we are serious about being back at the Fair. Again this year we awarded a Plaque to Jimmy Bryson and Lydia Insurance for the $1000.00 Bronze Contribution. Thanks to everyone that helped!!
Door prizes were drawn for and G.W. Tisdale won a screwdriver set, Dixie Shumpert and Jimmy Bryson won Colonial Cup caps.
The Meeting adjourned about 1:30 PM the weekend before Thanksgiving. If you didn't make it you really missed a good ride. The scenery was gorgeous, the food was delicious, and the weather could not have been any better. We had several wagons, along with several outriders. One of the best things about the weekend was that there were lots of kids riding. Lori had some of her students, Red & B.J.'s 3 boys and Kirby and Donna's 2 granddaughters, and not to mention “Little Luther” (Noah) riding Hattie by himself. It was great to see so many kids out and about enjoying good old fashioned fun. I just wish I had half of their energy!! I believe everyone all had a grand time, adults and kids. Tom and Lori fed us well, great food and fellowship, you can't beat that with a stick!! I hope they keep it up and it is an Annual event.
The Ride in Ridgeway
Tom and Lori Creasman put on a great ride at their place “Our Barn” in Ridgeway
